Chrome, redwoods, and rain! I guide most major rivers in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, and Sonoma counties. Weather is the ultimate decider of a steelhead trip’s fate; these trips often require a bit of extra driving and some planning on short notice. Steelhead rivers commonly blow out throughout the season, so refunds and rescheduling are always an option. However, I am proud to offer new access to a little-known blowout-resistant steelhead fishery that almost guarantees your ability to fish on the original booking day, just maybe with a bit more saltwater than the average day in the redwoods… Ask about Oregon, Prince of Wales, and Stillwater options!

Most of my summer steelhead fishing takes place in the Klamath-Trinity basin. I pride myself on fishing the entire 165+ miles of the Trinity as well as extensive reaches of the Klamath. The upper river provides a cold water safe haven for migrating fish but as soon as water temps allow I spend lots of time chasing bigger fish on spey setups in the lower stretches of the river. Summer Steelhead provide many different fishing opportunities, with so much water to chose from their are great opportunities for anglers of all skill levels! Ask about salmon, spey, and saltwater trips!
